My Curriculum
My curriculum is centred around creating a calm, loving, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and happy. I believe children learn best through meaningful experiences, secure relationships, and a slow-paced approach that allows them time to explore, grow, and develop at their own pace.
I strive to create a true home-from-home environment where children feel comfortable, relaxed, and emotionally secure. Building strong, trusting relationships is at the heart of my setting, helping children to feel confident, supported, and free to be themselves.
I aim to support children in becoming kind, respectful, and caring individuals who learn to value themselves and others. Through gentle guidance, positive role modelling, and everyday interactions, children are encouraged to develop empathy, good manners, patience, and confidence in social situations.
Children are supported to recognise, express, and understand their feelings in a safe and caring environment. I encourage open communication and help children learn that all feelings are valid. Through conversations, stories, play, and reassurance, children are supported in developing emotional confidence and resilience. I want every child to feel confident in asking for help, reassurance, or support whenever they need it.
I support children in building independence and essential life skills through daily routines and practical experiences. Children are encouraged to:
- Make choices and express their ideas
- Develop self-care skills
- Help with simple tasks and routines
- Learn responsibility and confidence
- Problem solve and explore independently
- Build confidence in trying new things
Social development is nurtured through play, conversation, shared experiences, and opportunities to build friendships in a warm and supportive environment. I encourage children to communicate openly, work together, and develop positive relationships with others.
My approach values childhood and the importance of slowing down. I provide opportunities for children to enjoy:
- Outdoor play and nature
- Creative activities and crafts
- Storytelling and imaginative play
- Walks and local outings
- Quiet time and cosy moments
- Real-life experiences and hands-on learning
Every child is unique, and my curriculum is adapted to meet their individual interests, needs, and stage of development, helping them to feel confident, capable, emotionally secure, and loved while they learn through play and everyday experiences.
